New type photos
Conrad has added more type photos and some live images of:
Genus and subgenus key
We have just launced a new key to the genera and subgenera of the tribe Phanaeini. We have adapted this into two keys, a text only key for people familiar with the diagnostic characters, and a dynamic key with many images of the diagnostic characters for people who are less familiar with the tribe. If you have images of some of the diagnostic characters in the key then please send them to us so we can provide images for every couplet.
44 new photos added
Many thanks to Raymond Frey (tedphanaeus) for submitting many new images to us. Thanks to him we now have 44 new images in the database, adding images to 7 species, and adding images to nine species that previously didn't have photos:
New interactive map
We have now replaced our old interactive map, and googlemap widgets to bring you a more user friendly map. You can get to this map through our Browse (Distribution) page.
Another species of Venezuela from Raffaele Acconcia
Raffaele Acconcia has very kindly given us more in-depth information on Phanaeus (Phanaeus) prasinus prasinus. Once again you can find his original notes here (in Spanish).
Forums now live
Hello, I've relaunched the forums with a new design and new features, Go have a look and get posting!
Many thanks to Raffaele Acconcia
Thanks to Raffaele, a collaborator in Venezuela we have now added a lot more information to Phanaeus (Phanaeus) prasinus lugens. Because he sent us so much information, and to make sure we properly acknowledge his work (and in case I incorrectly translated anything!) you can find his original document here in our knowledge base.

Very nearly ready!
Hello, I'm pleased to let you know that Phanaeinionline is very nearly ready! I hope for it to be fully functioning at the end of the week. At which point I will start work on fine tuning and adding some extra interesting and hopefully useful features.
Progress Report
Phanaeinionline 2.0 is coming along well. The new layout is complete and now I have to import the previous data and set up some user roles so that any registered user can edit content. These edits will wait for admin approval, and once you've edited a number of nodes successfully you will be allowed to edit without administrative approval. The best new feature we've added is the ability to mark species localities on a googlemap. I hope you use and enjoy this feature.
